Infosys has inaugurated a new 330,000-sq.-ft. Software Development Block at its Indore Development Center in Madhya Pradesh’s Super Corridor, expanding the company’s technology operations and employment base in the city. The facility is intended to strengthen work in cloud, application development, artificial intelligence, machine learning and cybersecurity.
Infosys said its Indore center currently employs more than 3,300 people supporting global clients across banking, financial services and insurance, retail, life sciences and manufacturing. The new block, identified as SDB-2, will add to the company’s presence in Central India and support its ability to draw talent from the region.
The inauguration was attended by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Indore Member of Parliament Shankar Lalwani and state legislator Manoj Nirbhay Singh Patel. Infosys was represented by Chief Financial Officer Jayesh Sanghrajka, Executive Vice-President Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar and Senior Vice-President Niladri Prasad Mishra, along with other company and state government officials.
Yadav said Indore was emerging as an important technology hub, supported by a strong talent base and a growing innovation ecosystem. He said the investment would create employment opportunities for skilled young people in the state and strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s technology ecosystem.
The expansion also includes plans for deeper engagement with the state’s academic and technology institutions. Infosys said it would pursue skilling programmes and institutional partnerships involving IIT Indore, IIM Indore and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. These linkages are intended to connect the company’s hiring and capability-building requirements with the talent available in Central India.
For Indore, the development adds another large institutional workplace to the Super Corridor, an area that has been positioned as a technology and business growth zone. The announcement links the physical expansion of the campus with the city’s wider effort to build a technology ecosystem around employers, educational institutions and skilled workers.
Sanghrajka said the expansion reflected Infosys’ continuing investment in talent, innovation and digital capabilities. He said the company would use the region’s talent pool to strengthen its capabilities in artificial intelligence, cloud and digital technologies, while continuing its investment in Madhya Pradesh and creating high-quality employment opportunities.
Infosys has not disclosed in the supplied announcement a separate construction cost, the additional number of jobs expected from the new block or a detailed operational timeline. The immediate next steps identified by the company are the use of the expanded center for technology delivery and continued engagement with Madhya Pradesh’s academic and technology ecosystem.
