KEC International Wins ₹1,303 Crore Power Infrastructure Orders

KEC International has secured new orders worth ₹1,303 crore across India and overseas markets, including transmission lines, power infrastructure equipment and cables and conductors, the company said in a statement reported by The Hindu BusinessLine.

The orders have been won across the company’s transmission and distribution (T&D) business, with projects located in India, West Asia and the Americas. The India portfolio includes 400 kV transmission lines in Northern India, while the international orders include 380 kV transmission lines in Saudi Arabia.

KEC International also said it had received orders for the supply of towers, hardware and poles in the Americas. Its cables and conductors business has secured additional orders in India and overseas markets, although the company statement did not disclose the individual value or execution timelines of these contracts.

The company said one of the India T&D orders had been placed by an existing private client for a transmission line project intended to evacuate power from a hydroelectric plant in Northern India. Power evacuation infrastructure connects generation facilities to the wider transmission network and is required to move electricity from producing regions to demand centres.

“Our India T&D business has secured a prestigious order from an existing private client for a transmission line project to evacuate power from a hydroelectric plant in Northern India,” Vimal Kejriwal, managing director and chief executive officer of KEC International, said in the statement. He added that the company’s international T&D business had strengthened its presence in West Asia through multiple order wins in Saudi Arabia.

The latest contracts take KEC International’s year-to-date order intake to more than ₹7,600 crore, according to the company. Kejriwal said the T&D business had a large pipeline of opportunities and continued demand across its key markets.

The order announcement places transmission and distribution activity at the centre of the company’s current business intake. The projects span high-voltage transmission lines, equipment supply and cables and conductors, covering both network construction and the materials needed for power infrastructure.

KEC International is the flagship company of the RPG Group and describes itself as a global infrastructure engineering, procurement and construction major. The company said it has a presence in more than 110 countries.

The company did not provide project completion schedules, contract margins, client names beyond the reference to an existing private client in India, or a detailed geographic split of the ₹1,303 crore order value in the statement reported by The Hindu BusinessLine.
