Hyderabad-Tashkent Flight Services To Begin From September 28
HYDERABAD: Centrum Air will launch scheduled flights between Hyderabad and Tashkent from September 28, creating a new direct international connection between Telangana’s capital and Uzbekistan. The twice-weekly service will operate with an Airbus A320neo and make Hyderabad the airline’s second Indian gateway after Delhi. The route is expected to strengthen links with Central Asia while offering passengers onward connectivity through Tashkent.
The new service adds another international route to Hyderabad’s growing aviation network. Direct connectivity with Tashkent can support travel between the two cities while also improving access to destinations across the wider Central Asian region. Tashkent serves as Centrum Air’s hub, allowing passengers travelling from Hyderabad to potentially connect onwards to destinations across Central Asia, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Middle East and Europe. This gives the route significance beyond point-to-point travel between Hyderabad and Uzbekistan. The new connection could also cater to several passenger segments. Tourism is one potential source of demand, particularly as international travellers increasingly look for direct connections between emerging markets. Students and passengers visiting friends and relatives can also contribute to traffic on the route.
For Hyderabad, expanding international connectivity has wider economic implications. Direct air links can make a city more accessible to overseas businesses, educational institutions and visitors. They can also support trade and professional travel by reducing the need for connecting flights through larger international hubs. The route is being developed with support from Aeroprime Group, which is working with Centrum Air on market development and its wider India presence. The partnership includes areas such as travel-trade engagement, distribution, airport coordination and market activation. The launch also reflects Hyderabad’s position as an important aviation market in southern India. The city has a large technology, pharmaceutical, education and services ecosystem, creating diverse sources of international travel demand. The twice-weekly schedule will initially provide limited but direct capacity on the Hyderabad-Tashkent corridor. Passenger response will be important in determining how the route develops over time. Sustained demand could eventually support higher frequencies or additional international connections.
From an urban connectivity perspective, international air services are an important part of a growing metropolitan economy. Hyderabad’s ability to connect directly with more global destinations can complement its road and rail networks by improving access to markets that are beyond practical land-travel distances. The new route is therefore more than an additional flight option. It strengthens Hyderabad’s links with a region that sits between Europe and Asia and could provide passengers with another gateway for international travel. Centrum Air plans to begin the Hyderabad-Tashkent service on September 28, with flights operating twice a week. Sales are expected to open shortly through the airline and travel-trade channels.
