Ajnara Homes Society, a residential enclave in Greater Noida West housing approximately 2,300 families, is currently embroiled in a severe water crisis that has persisted for the past four days. Residents report receiving water for only three hours daily, with insufficient pressure, severely disrupting their daily lives and raising significant health concerns.
One of the resident, highlighted the dire situation: “We’re facing acute disruptions in our daily routines. The water supply lasts barely an hour with such low pressure that it hardly reaches our taps. This has been ongoing for four days, and it’s becoming unbearable.” Despite multiple appeals to both the society’s management and local authorities, the issue remains unresolved. The management attributes the water scarcity to inadequate pressure from the local authority, which hampers the filling of the society’s underground water tank. Complaints filed with the authorities have yet to yield effective results, leaving residents frustrated and anxious about their hygiene and health.A spokesperson for the management stated, “We rely on the local authority for water supply, and their current low pressure is the primary cause of this crisis. While complaints have been lodged, substantive action is still awaited.”
The persistent water shortage not only disrupts daily activities but also poses serious risks of water-borne diseases due to compromised hygiene and sanitation standards. Residents fear that without a prompt resolution, the situation could deteriorate further, exacerbating health and living conditions in the society. Voicing their discontent, residents demand a sustainable solution and urge both the management and local authorities to cease the blame game and collaborate swiftly to resolve the crisis. “Enough is enough. We need a permanent fix to this recurring issue,” emphasised another resident.
