Combined with recent reports of tree falls, waterlogging and structural failures elsewhere in the city, the episode has highlighted how extreme weather can amplify vulnerabilities around active development sites. Under the Construction Safety Advisory, project authorities have been instructed to verify the stability of scaffolding, cranes, lifting equipment, protective barriers and temporary site installations. Loose materials stored on elevated floors or rooftops must either be secured or removed to minimise the danger posed by high winds. Excavated areas are also required to be protected and monitored continuously to reduce the possibility of ground failure or accidental access by the public.
