The upgraded service, expected to become operational within the coming weeks, enables travellers to secure the next available cab directly from a dedicated booking counter inside the airport rather than waiting for an individual driver to navigate through airport traffic. Once a booking is confirmed, passengers receive a unique ride code and are directed to board an available vehicle stationed in the designated pick-up zone. The initiative follows a successful trial conducted by the airport operator in collaboration with a ride-hailing platform. The revised process replaces the conventional model, where passengers often wait several minutes for their assigned driver to reach the collection point despite multiple vehicles already being present nearby.
The new approach is expected to improve airport mobility by streamlining vehicle allocation and reducing unnecessary circulation of cars within the airport premises.
