India’s professional audio-visual industry is preparing for a new regional trade platform as the organisers of PALM Expo announce the launch of a Delhi edition scheduled for January 2027. The event will mark the first time the long-running industry exhibition expands beyond its Mumbai base, signalling growing demand for professional audio, lighting and visual technologies across northern India. The inaugural PALM Expo Delhi is planned from 7–9 January 2027 at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital. Organisers expect the exhibition to host 70 to 100 exhibitors and attract approximately 5,000 to 7,000 industry professionals, including system integrators, consultants, event specialists and technology providers.
Industry observers say the expansion reflects the rising importance of the Delhi-NCR region in India’s audio-visual technology market. North India currently accounts for roughly 40–45 percent of the country’s AV hardware demand, driven by corporate offices, convention venues, educational institutions and large-scale events infrastructure. The Delhi event will build on the reputation of the long-running Mumbai edition of PALM Expo, which has served for more than two decades as one of India’s leading trade platforms for professional audio, visual and lighting equipment. By introducing a northern edition, organisers aim to bring suppliers and technology developers closer to a rapidly growing regional market while strengthening connections between manufacturers, distributors and end-users. The exhibition will be structured around four primary segments: professional audio systems, high-end home audio and speaker technologies, advanced visual display solutions and entertainment lighting equipment. These segments reflect the expanding use of AV technologies in areas ranging from corporate boardrooms and event venues to educational campuses and entertainment environments. Organisers say the Delhi edition will emphasise emerging technology trends shaping the AV industry. Demonstrations are expected to include immersive audio systems, integrated AV environments, artificial-intelligence-enabled audio management tools and digital signage technologies. A notable feature of the event will be dedicated outdoor “line array” demonstration zones designed to showcase high-performance sound systems in real-world acoustic conditions. International participation is expected to form a large portion of the exhibitor base. Approximately 80 percent of participating brands are likely to represent global manufacturers through Indian distribution partners, while about 20 percent will showcase domestic “Make in India” technologies. The expansion also reflects broader growth in India’s AV ecosystem. Industry estimates place the country’s professional audio market at $750 million to $850 million, while the professional lighting sector is approaching $2 billion and growing at more than 11 percent annually.
For technology suppliers, the Delhi edition is expected to create a regional marketplace connecting buyers with solutions for corporate installations, entertainment venues, government command centres and digital experience spaces. As investments in event infrastructure, immersive entertainment and digital communication environments accelerate, the launch of PALM Expo Delhi suggests the professional AV sector is evolving into a significant technology segment within India’s broader digital infrastructure landscape.
