SJVN’s ambitious 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project in Nepal is on track to commence power generation by 2025, with over 74% of the construction work completed, according to Sushil Sharma, the Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN.
This announcement comes after Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ceremoniously initiated the final blast, marking the completion of the heading excavation of the 11.8 km long head race tunnel for the project. Located in the Sankhuwasabha district of Nepal, the Arun-3 project is a significant milestone for SJVN, showcasing its capabilities in constructing large-scale hydro-electric infrastructure. The project is designed to generate approximately 3,924 million units of electricity annually, contributing substantially to Nepal’s energy supply and enhancing cross-border energy cooperation between India and Nepal.
