Hyderabad-headquartered Ramky Infrastructure Limited has secured a large engineering procurement and construction contract to develop core infrastructure for an industrial zone near Dighi Port, a key node within India’s industrial corridor strategy. The project, valued at over ₹1,400 crore, will support the early-stage development of the Dighi Port Industrial Area, part of the larger Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor. The contract has been awarded by Maharashtra Industrial Township Limited, a special purpose vehicle created to plan and develop industrial infrastructure around the port region in Raigad district. The assignment involves delivering integrated utilities and infrastructure required to prepare the industrial area for manufacturing and logistics operations.
Under the EPC scope, the company will undertake the full lifecycle of infrastructure development—from design and engineering to construction, commissioning and operations support. Key components include internal road networks, stormwater drainage, water treatment and distribution systems, sewerage infrastructure, recycled water pipelines, and power distribution networks. Utility corridors for information and communication technology infrastructure will also be incorporated to support digitally enabled industrial operations. The Dighi Port Industrial Area is among the strategic industrial nodes planned along the Delhi–Mumbai corridor, a multi-state infrastructure initiative designed to enhance manufacturing capacity, strengthen logistics connectivity and attract global investment into India’s industrial economy.
By building integrated infrastructure around transport hubs such as ports and freight corridors, policymakers aim to reduce logistics costs and support export-oriented manufacturing clusters.Industry analysts say the development of integrated utility systems at industrial townships is increasingly important as manufacturing facilities demand reliable water, power and digital connectivity from day one of operations. Such infrastructure frameworks are expected to play a significant role in improving industrial readiness and accelerating the establishment of new factories.
For Ramky Infrastructure Limited, the project reflects a growing focus on large-format EPC assignments tied to industrial corridors and urban infrastructure networks. Companies with strong engineering and project management capabilities are increasingly competing for such contracts as India expands investment in industrial parks, logistics hubs and manufacturing clusters. The construction phase of the Dighi Port industrial infrastructure is expected to take just over two and a half years, after which the contractor will also manage operations and maintenance for a defined period to ensure systems perform reliably once industries begin occupying the area.
Urban and infrastructure economists note that projects linked to the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor represent a critical component of India’s long-term economic development strategy. By combining transport infrastructure with planned industrial townships and utilities, the corridor aims to create new economic zones capable of supporting manufacturing growth, job creation and regional urbanisation. As development progresses, the Dighi Port industrial cluster is expected to play a role in strengthening the logistics network along India’s western coastline while contributing to the expansion of integrated industrial ecosystems connected to the national freight and export infrastructure.
