76 Unipole Sites Up for Bidding in Noida

Greater Noida: The Greater Noida Authority is poised to award advertisement rights for 76 strategically located unipole sites across the city, a move expected to generate significant revenue over the coming years. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the authority anticipates collecting approximately Rs 100 crore in revenue from these contracts over a seven-year period.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to regulate and monetise outdoor advertising in Greater Noida. The unipole sites will be situated in high-traffic areas, including major highways, expressways, and bustling urban locations, ensuring maximum visibility for advertisers.

To further streamline the process and curb unauthorised advertising, each unipole will be equipped with a unique QR code. These QR codes will precisely identify the location of each unipole, facilitating better management and monitoring by the authorities. This measure aims to prevent the proliferation of unauthorised media, ensuring that only sanctioned advertisements are displayed. The unipoles will adhere to specific design and operational guidelines. They can be illuminated externally or from behind, but self-illuminating unipoles will not be permitted. This restriction is likely to ensure uniformity in appearance and compliance with safety standards. Additionally, the unipoles will feature a consistent colour scheme and be adorned with designer frames, enhancing their aesthetic appeal and integrating seamlessly with the cityscape.

The introduction of QR codes is a notable aspect of this initiative. By leveraging technology, the Greater Noida Authority aims to maintain strict oversight of the advertising sites. The unique codes will not only help in location tracking but also play a crucial role in verifying the authenticity of the advertisements displayed. This technological integration is expected to streamline the management of advertising sites and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The expected revenue of Rs 100 crore underscores the financial potential of this initiative. By capitalising on high-visibility locations, the Greater Noida Authority aims to attract significant interest from advertisers, thereby maximising revenue generation. This financial boost will likely be reinvested in further urban development and infrastructure projects, contributing to the overall growth of Greater Noida.

Moreover, the structured approach to awarding advertisement rights reflects a commitment to organised urban development. By formalising the process and incorporating technology, the authority aims to create a sustainable and transparent framework for outdoor advertising. This will not only enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal but also ensure that advertising practices adhere to established guidelines and regulations. The initiative also highlights the importance of outdoor advertising as a revenue stream for urban authorities. With the increasing demand for prime advertising spaces, cities like Greater Noida are recognising the potential to monetise these assets effectively. The structured auctioning of unipole sites is a step towards optimising the utilisation of public spaces for commercial purposes.
